Here are five things I am loving and doing this week to inspire yours:
One of my favorite events of the year has arrived, Bouquets to Art the The De Young Museum. It is only here for this week, ending on March 19th, so get out this weekend and check out this amazing exhibit, where local florists create arrangements inspired by an art piece in the museum
This week started with great weather, Tater Tot and I headed out to Lands End to enjoy the beautiful weather, picnic lunch, and take in the view. Check out more on hiking at Lands End here.
A friend recently recommended The Happiness Track, by Emma Seppala. If you have been following me for a while, you know I love a good self help book, and this one was right up my alley. I particularly loved the conversation about cultivating creative thinking in your children. Children are born as creative thinkers and as they grow up they lose that ability. Creativity, whether in problem solving or in more creative ways (ie. art) is important for our happiness and success. This book gave me some good ideas for rethinking about how I look at it and cultivate it in our kids.
This ski season has been EPIC, and it is almost over. There is only about one month left before the scheduled close of some of the resorts (May 3oth for Squaw/Alpine and April 23rd for Northstar California). We have been getting in as much skiing and afternoons by the fire as possible while the snow is still good and the resorts are still open. At the same time that this season is almost over, season passes for next season are on sale now. We have found that the most affordable way to ski is to buy a season pass, if you ski 5 days or more it can save you a ton of money. Mountain Collective also has a cool deal at multiple resorts.
Although the weather earlier in the week started out amazing, the fog returned by mid-week. Either way, sun or fog, I never get tired of this view.
What have you been up to? What are you loving this week?
